Finance Director – Dunn, pop. 9,427. Performs managerial, administrative and fiscal control work for the city finance operations w/annual general fund operating budget of $8.8M and water fund operating budget of $5.0M. Work involves planning, coordinating & directing all aspects of city financial management & administration, which includes receipt, disbursement and accounting of city revenues & expenditures, managing investment of city funds & assisting City Manager in preparing annual budget. Supervises payroll, accounts payable/receivable and water utilities billing. Independent judgment & initiative required to ensure compliance with local ordinances, NC General Statutes & federal laws regarding governmental financial operations. Minimum requirements: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, public or business administration & 2 to 4 yrs. of managerial accounting experience preferably in a public financial setting; or equivalent combination of training & experience.
