Qualified bidders may submit bids for the following project in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. NCGS Chapter 87 shall govern submittal, opening, and award of bids.
Piedmont High School Firefighting Academy located at 3006 Sikes Mill Road, Monroe, North Carolina 28110. Project ID # 4-9334843

Architect: DH&A Architecture, P.A., Monroe, NC, (704) 283.2908.
Project consists of a new 2400SF building to be constructed on the Piedmont High School Campus. This building is constructed with a pre-engineered building assembly with interior masonry walls. Plumbing, HVAC and electrical work is also included. Minimal site work is involved. 
Bids will be received for Construction.
Owner will receive sealed lump sum bids until: April 2, 2014, at 2:00PM, local time, delivered to Union County Public Schools Facilities Dept., 201 Venus St, Monroe, NC 28110. Bids will be thereafter publicly opened and read aloud. Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive informalities and irregularities.
Submit bid security with each bid in the amount of 5 percent of the bid amount. No bids may be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after opening of bids.
A  Mandatory Pre-bid meeting for all bidders will be held at Piedmont High School, 3006 Sikes Mill Road, Monroe, NC 28110 on March 10, 2014 at 2:00 PM, local time.
Bidders may request drawings be emailed to them by contacting the UCPS Purchasing Coordinator after March 6th. Project Manuals will be distributed at the Pre- Bid Meeting.  
The Union County Board of Education has adopted a Minority Participation Policy compliant with the North Carolina State Minority recommendations.  Minority Business Enterprises are encouraged to participate.
