Pre-College – Advisor – Upward Bound Program
Implement, recruitment, and orientation of participants into the program from the assigned target area. Oversee participant selection process by working with high school principals, counselors, teachers, and local/state agencies in the target area. Establish and maintain a liaison with designated community agencies and schools. Visit target schools regularly to assure that all communications concerning the program and the participants are clear and consistent. Provide academic, personal, career, and social support services to participants. Must be prepared to work evenings and weekends. Bachelor’s degree and knowledge of assessment of disadvantaged populations. Ability to communicate effectively with participants and supporting agencies, community constituents, parents, and target area high schools. Some experience working with low-income, minority, and disadvantaged populations. Some computer records management experience.
