Turner Construction Company is seeking to Pre-Qualify Subcontractors wishing to bid for construction elements for the Clemson University – Watt Family Innovation Center Project. A meeting will be held at the Clemson University Conference Center and Inn (230 Madren Center Drive, Clemson, SC 29634) at 4:00 pm on Thursday, March 20, 2014 to provide pre-qualification and project information to interested parties. All Subcontractors will be required to provide a complete Pre-qualification package prior to receiving an Invitation to Bid from Turner Construction Co. Subcontractors that have a qualification statement on file with Turner need to only provide updated information as required by Turner. All interested Subcontractors are invited to visit the public project website www.turnerwficproject.com. This website is designed to serve as a communications hub for current and potential subcontractor(s)/vendor(s) and project team members seeking up-to-date information related to the Clemson University – Watt Family Innovation Center Project. The website also includes the Subcontractor Interest Form (to be filled out online). Once the form is submitted, the information will be stored in a database for the project. By utilizing this system, Turner will be able to keep track of every subcontractor and vendor that is interested in the project.
Clemson University is developing the new innovation center for the coordination of the College of Engineering and industry partners on the main campus near the Strom Thurman Institute and Cooper Library. The project is an extension of the technology & engineering buildings along S. Palmetto Drive and will occupy the west boundary of the existing quad green-space. The new Innovation Center is envisioned to be a state-of-the-art learning facility that incorporates the latest in ever-evolving innovations of design, engineering and technology in order to facilitate education and partnership with industry. The new, 66ksf building is scheduled to break ground in spring of 2014 with a completion date of summer 2015.
