The Decision to Handle Rejection

Rev. Manson B. Johnson

The Big Idea: Endurance is the key to achieving challenging goals in life.“Man’s rejection can be God’s direction.  God sometimes uses the rejection of hateful people to move us to a new place or assignment–where we wouldn’t have thought of going on our own.

Helping Your Local Economy

Written by Gregg Thompson on Monday, 19 November 2012 16:36.

You know about Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving when people line up outside the big department stores and discount stores in the middle of the night to buy cheap Christmas presents. Black Friday is a big day for retailers, but I don't think it's nearly as important as Small Business Saturday. That's because small business is the heart and soul of our economy.

How To Not Grow Old Broke

Written by Devin Robinson on Monday, 12 November 2012 19:04.

Growing old is not something we can avoid, but growing old and broke is! I speak about the Consumption Theory in my latest book, Power M.O.V.E.: How to Transition from Employee to Employer. So many people have been enlightened by its practical approach and simplistic delivery but, honestly creating success really is kind of simple. Student Loans Cause 36 Million to Drop Out

Written by Charlene Crowell on Monday, 12 November 2012 19:02.

According to a new report, since 2009, 36 million Americans have attended college without earning a degree. Consequently, 850,000 individual private loans valued at more than $8 billion are now in default. With high and variable interest rates, these loans can cost students more in repayment than the actual cost of tuition. From 2005 to 2011 alone, private student loan debt more than doubled from $56 billion to $140 billion.

Ballot Proposition Increases Corporate Welfare

Written by Harry C. Alford on Monday, 05 November 2012 16:55.

It’s time to analyze the various referendums on the ballots Tuesday.  All over the nation, common citizens are asked to say “yes” to an issue that is supposedly for their benefit and financial future. More times than not, the consequences of such are harmful and slanted to a greedy few. Such is the case with “Question 7” appearing on the Maryland ballot on November 6. Question 7 ads in support of gaming flood the airwaves in the D.C. metro region, with claims flying left and right about what it means for Maryland.
