/>Mark March 2nd as the Day You Will Make an Impact.<br /><br />Join the
Race for the Cure supporting the local effort against breast cancer. With
each mile that we walk or run\, we are that much closer to giving another
 screening\, funding another treatment\, and researching a Cure.<br /><br /
 >Inaugural Komen Race in Wilmington to fight breast cancer<br /><br />Walk
ing and running through the city's historic downtown district within a sto
ne's throw of area beaches\, while sharing memories and encouragement with
people whose lives have been touched by breast cancer\, will be the focus
of the Inaugural Wilmington Race for the Cure®.<br /><br />Hosted by the
North Carolina Triangle to the Coast Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the
Cure\, the family event will be held Saturday\, March 2\, and will feature
  5K Race/Walks\, a Kid Zone and a Survivor Breakfast\, all in support of a
cause dedicated to saving lives.<br /><br />An estimated 6\,000 women in
North Carolina will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year\, and over 1
\,000 of them will die. In eastern North Carolina\, the incidence of breas
t cancer and the mortality rate from the disease are even higher\, by 11 p
 ercent and 20 percent\, respectively.<br /><br />'No woman's life should b
e dependent on her geography\,' says Pam Kohl\, Executive Director of the
Raleigh-based Susan G. Komen for the Cure Affiliate and a breast cancer su

nd leading cause of cancer-related death among women in the U.S.<br /><br
/>The North Carolina Triangle to the Coast Affiliate last year added nine
counties in southeastern North Carolina to the 20 counties it already was
serving. Its Komen Triangle Race for the Cure\, which celebrated its 16th
year in 2012\, has attracted as many 23\,000 participants in the past.<br
/><br />Last year\, with funds it raised\, the North Carolina Triangle to
the Coast Affiliate distributed $1.1 million to 19 agencies in the region
to provide a continuum of breast health services to underinsured and unins
ured women\, and contributed another $400\,000 for national breast cancer
 research.<br /><br />That same year\, Dallas-based Susan G. Komen for the
Cure\, one of the largest fundraising charities in the U.S. to fight breas
t cancer\, returned $2.4 million to the region in the form of research gra
nts to Duke University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
.<br /><br />'The Race for the Cure presents us with an opportunity to cel

local residents by raising funds to support education\, screening and tre

DESCRIPTION:<p>Calling all Triangle Youth Step teams!<br /><br />On March 1
6th\, the members of the Sigma Rho Zeta chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority\
, Inc. (Cary\, NC) will host the 8th Triangle Youth Step-Off. This youth s
howcase is inspired by the traditional African-American Greek step shows.
The showcase is designed to encourage creativity\, education\, and healthy
competition. Teams from area schools\, churches and community organizatio
ns will compete at Sanderson HS Auditorium in Raleigh\, NC. The doors open
at 1:30 pm\, the event begins at 2pm. This year\, up to 8 teams will repr
esent Raleigh\, Durham\, Cary and surrounding areas. The cost for entry is
$8 in advance\, $10 at the door. Group sale discounts are available. The
proceeds of the event will support the chapter’s Annual High School scho
larship to be awarded to a graduating Cary resident.</p>\n<p>The first Ste
p-Off\, held in 2004 drew a crowd of over 500 attendees. Over the years th
e event has grown\, awarding local teams the honor of Step-Off Champions.
This year’s winning team will join the roster of the area’s most talen

 s Finest\, Little Betas\, Blue Dynasty Community Center\, and Victorious P
raise Step team. The first\, second and third place teams will win a cash
prize and trophy.<br /><br />“When I initially came up with the idea for
the chapter to host the event\, the premise was to provide local youth te
ams with a public outlet to display their amazing talents. The goal was to
be inclusive of school\, church\, recreational and community center teams
. The event has grown with each passing year and it is indeed a pleasure t
o witness the creativity and originality of all the teams that participate
” Angela Brown\, the event’s founding chairwoman. The chapter consists
of twenty-six women that share interests in scholarship\, service\, siste
rly love\, and finer womanhood. This program brings the national ZHOPE pro
gram locally where members help others through programming which support e

 , Your Recipe For Living Coach\, LLC<br /> <br />11:30am-1:00pm<br />$40.0
 0<br /><br />Terry Jean Taylor<br />A passionate motivational speaker and
life coach with a new reality-based\, no-nonsense approach\, Terry Taylor
is the designer of a unique strategy for reaching your goals and loving yo
ur life. Her 8 Steps For Reclaiming Your Life CD program shows you how to
break free from conflict\, confusion and the control of others so you can
go after your goals guilt-free\, with confidence and joy. A personal couns
elor for over thirty years\, Terry has helped women in all walks of life i
mprove their productivity\, their relationships and their quality of life
by breaking free from the contradictions in their beliefs that lead to str
ess\, anxiety\, and guilt. Both her CD program and her new book\, This Is
Your Life: No Apology Needed\, are designed to help you stop apologizing
and start living.<br /><br />Before designing her CD Program and writin
g the final version of her book\, Terry conducted a survey of business wom
en and working moms to discover what helps and what hinders them in going
after their goals. The survey confirmed that the women who experienced the
most serious conflict harbored self-paralyzing contradictions in their de
ep-down bottom-line beliefs. Terry is no stranger to dealing with conflict
s that arise from holding contradictory beliefs about ourselves and the wo
rld. She spent the first half of her life in conflict between what others
told her to do and what her own best judgment told her to do. At stake wer
e her career\, her marriage\, her decision about children\, and her happin
ess. Through long study and thought (she found that agonizing and hair-pul
ling didn’t work)\, she was able to resolve her conflict and achieve the
life of her dreams: she loves where she lives\, what she does\, the man s
he lives with and the kind of person she has made of herself.<br /> <br />
