The Krispy Kreme Challenge is an annual\, student-operated r
ace in Raleigh\, North Carolina benefiting the NC Children's Hospital. Beg
inning in 2004 with a mere 10 participants\,the race has grown exponential
ly to a whopping expected 7\,700 runners as the race and has rapidly becom
e one of NC State University's newest traditions.
Beginning at
the NC State Belltower\, each runner runs 2 miles to the Krispy Kreme stor
e located on Peace St. in Raleigh. After downing a full dozen of the famou
s Krispy Kreme doughnuts\, the runner must run the two miles back. All in

This four-day course is designed for engineers\, scientists\, and
others from applied technical fields who want to gain a deeper understand
ing of business.
“A key goal of the program is to enable part
icipants to become ‘Boundary-Spanners’ – technical leaders who have
the general management awareness to work effectively across functional are
as within their organization\,” said Dan McGurrin\, Poole College’s Ex
ecutive Programs director.
“Today’s successful organization
s need technical professionals who understand how their work intersects wi
th marketing\, finance\, operations\, strategy\, and services\,” McGurri
n said. “This course will help participants understand the different fun
ctions\, how they sometimes conflict with one another\, and how management
systems can streamline these activities.”
In keeping with Po
ole College’s focus on applied learning\, Business Essentials participan
ts also will work in small teams to complete a business planning project
either for a new product offering at their company or in support of a p
eer’s project.
“This experience not only develops teamwork

Quick Trip (1.5 hours)
This leisurely 3-mile float through the tree-
lined banks of this peaceful river allows any paddler the opportunity to e
njoy the scenic beauty of the Raleigh Canoe Trail. See turtles\, water
fowl\, shorebirds\, turkeys\, deer and the occasional raccoon as you float
under the canopy of beautiful pines and hardwoods. The trip lasts approxi
mately 1.5 hours and is recommended for small groups\, families\, couples\
, or corporate events.
The Canoe Quick Trip begins at the Canoe Laun
ch directly across the street from our shop off of Falls of Neuse Road and
ends at our private take out on Capital Blvd.
*Paddle Creek cannot a
ccommodate for children that require a booster seat or car seat to ride in
a vehicle. Please call the store for details. We do not allow Flip-flop
s\, only watershoes or sandles with straps.

nt. The 38th Annual North Carolina State Foosball Championships.
The 2012 North Carolina State Foosball Championships will be held in W
ilmington\, NC October 5th\, 6th and 7th\, 2012\, at Break Time Billia
rds Sports Bar and Grill located at 127 South College Road\, Wilmington\,
NC. Over $2\,500.00 in Cash and Prizes will be up for grabs.
This is our 10th year holding this event at Break Time Billiards\, and we
are very pleased to bring this event back to the Wilmington\, NC area on
our 2012 Bonzini U.S.A. Foosball Tour. A portion of the tournament proce
eds will go to support the Brigade Boys & Girls Club\, which has been in t
he forefront of youth development in the Wilmington area for 116 years\, w
orking with youth from disadvantaged economic\, social and family circumst
ances.
April 19th\, 2012. We were very excited to receive th
e Julian Tusch 'Volunteer of the Year Award' from the Brigade Boys and G
irls Club. This award was presented to Steve Hebert of Break Time Bill
iards and Alan & Gloria Cribbs of Bonzini USA .
For over five y
ears this group has raised over $15\,000 for the Brigade through golf tour
naments\, foosball tournaments and grants with RJ Reynolds Right Decisions
\, Right Now Youth Tobacco Prevention Program.
The Bonzini U
.S.A. Foosball Tour events not only draws local North Carolina participant
s but draws participants from as far away as California and Canada.

br />Since 2003 Bonzini U.S.A. tour events in the Wilmington\, NC area has
generated over $16\,000.00 for the Brigade Boys and Girls Club along wi
th the donation of 2 new foosball tables for their facilities.
On Thursday October 4th\, 2012 before we kick off the 38th Annual North
Carolina State Foosball Championships we will be holding our 5th Annual Ca
pe Fear Links Challenge\, at Castle Bay Country Club in Hampstead\, NC.
