In “The Funk & Wag from A to Z” \, originally curated by Ann Harithas for the Nave Museum in Victoria\, TX \, artist Mel Chin extracted images from all 25 volumes of the 1953 Funk & Wagnall’s Encyclopedia and re-edited them a collages\, unleashing the p otentiality of images trapped by historical context.  Chin� �s inspiring piece is showcased alongside new configurations of more recen t works by the artist in this exhibition.

Independent Youth Inc. is proud to announce the expansion of its Teen Entrepreneurship Symposium i nto Charlotte\, North Carolina.  This event will take place on Monday Oc tober 18\, 2012 from 9:00 am to 2:30pm on the campus of The University of North Carolina - Charlotte.

The Symposium will focus on giv ing high school students various perspectives on entrepreneurship while t eaching key entrepreneurial concepts in a hands-on setting. During the Sy mposium students will hear from keynote speaker Mr. Michael J. DeLazzer\, creator of the Redbox movie kiosk\, as he shares his entrepreneurial jou rney and road to success. In addition\, students will attend break-out se ssions that focuses on various facets of entrepreneurship\, a networking lunch and a panel discussion. Each break-out session is presented by a N ationally-recognized teen entrepreneur.

Teen Entrepreneurship Symposium participants\; develop and strengthen their entrepreneurial mi ndset\, increase social and networking skills\, and gain an in-depth unde rstanding of entrepreneurship. In cooperation with several local business es\, The Teen Entrepreneurship Symposium has become a unique\, educationa l and engaging conference that inspires teens to discover their passion a nd become an entrepreneurial-minded individual.
