 and Volleyball Tournament</p>\n<p>April is National Sexual Assault Activis
 m Month - a time to raise public awareness about sexual violence and to ed
 ucate communities and individuals on how to prevent sexual violence.  Sex
 ual violence affects people of all ages\, ethnicities\, and backgrounds. 
  One in five women and one in 71 men will be raped at some point in their 
 lives according to a report by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevent
 ion. Child sexual abuse also happens at an alarming rate.  One in six boy
 s and one in four girls will experience sexual assault before the age of 1
 8.   <br />Throughout the month of April\, the Rape Crisis Center of Coa
 stal Horizons Center\, Inc. (RCC) will be participating in a variety of aw
 areness events and needs help from the community to spread the word and pa
 int the town teal.</p>\n<p>RCC. staff and volunteers will be canvassing ba
 rs and other establishments that serve alcohol in New Hanover County for t
 he first Bar Outreach Project on Friday April 5th\, 2013 from 4-6pm.  Rep
 resentatives will be providing bar staff with information on drug facilita
 ted sexual assault (DFSA) including\; information about drugs that are com
 monly used\, tips on how to prevent DFSA\, options for bartenders if they 
 believe someone has been drugged\, and tips to share with patrons on how t
 o stay safe.   <br />In the 2012-2013 Fiscal Year\, The RCC served 465 n
 ew victims and responded to over 90 hospital calls. The Rape Crisis Center
  relies on grants and donations for its funding. All donations and fundrai
 sing events will ensure 24 hour crisis response as well as free and confid
 ential services for victims of sexual violence and abuse.   <br />The RC
 C will also be hosting several fundraising/outreach events throughout the 
 month of April including a Volleyball Tournament on Saturday April 27th at
  11am at Capt'N Bills Backyard Grill.  The cost to participate is $100 (p
 er co-ed 4 person team) in advance and $120 the day of the tournament. Int
 erested participants can call <br />(910) 762-0173 to register a team.  
  <br />Several organizations within the community will also be participati
 ng in Sexual Assault Activism Month including\; UNCW\, Fuzzy Peach\, TCBY\
 , Cape Fear Roller Girls. It all starts with the community deciding to be 
 a part of the solution\, to take action\, and to offer a voice to the caus
