illion Americans are affected by blinding retinal diseases such as macular
degeneration\, retinitis pigmentosa and Usher Syndrome. The Foundation Fi
ghting Blindness is working to find treatments and cures for these devasta
ting diseases. Our Foundation funds leading-edge research in areas such as
genetics\, gene therapy\, transplantation\, artificial retinal implants\,
and pharmaceutical and nutritional therapies.
Since 2006\, Vis
ionWalk has raised over $23 million to support the mission of the Foundati
on Fighting Blindness. More than 50 walks are planned for 2013\, including
the 8th Annual Northern Virginia VisionWalk on Sunday\, April 21st\, 2013
\, at Fairfax Corners.

amily-friendly event to celebrate the fundraising efforts of the Hampton R
oads community and to get together with friends and family of those who sh
are a similar goal of finding a cure. We will have plenty of activities\,
including a bounce house\, face painting\, characters\, music and a whole
