A 20 year rivalry comes to a head as the New Hanover Sheriff Office take on the Wilmington Police Department in the “Battle of the Badges” basketball game. The action begins at 3pm with raffle prizes, face painting, food and family fun for all. The fierce competition begins at 3pm.

Come out and support your law enforcement agency as they raise money and awareness for the Big Buddy program that helps mentor at-risk-youths in our community. Don't miss out on this Wilmington tradition. Get your tickets today by contacting the Cape Fear Volunteer Center online at capefearvolunteerctr.org or by phone at 910-392-8180.

All proceeds go to the Big Buddy Program; a one-on-one mentoring program that matches “at-risk” youth 5-16 years old in New Hanover County with positive role models. Youth are identified as “at-risk” due to the following circumstances: involvement with the juvenile justice system, excessive in school and out of school suspensions, poor academic performance, and the lack of positive role models. Our vision is to inspire and enable, through character development, all young people especially those from disadvantaged circumstances to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens. A productive, responsible and caring life is one that is free of crime, includes academic success and promotes civic responsibility. For more information on the Big Buddy Program or to become a Big Buddy, contact the Cape Fear Volunteer Center at capefearvolunteerctr.org, or call us at 910-392-8180.
