A 20 year rivalry comes to a head as the New Hanover Sheriff Office take on the Wilmington Police Department in the “Battle of the Badges” basketball game. The action begins at 3pm with raffle prizes\, face painting\, food and family fun for all. The fierce competition begin s at 3pm.

\nAll proceeds go to the Big Buddy Program\; a one-on-one mentoring program that matche s “at-risk” youth 5-16 years old in New Hanover County with positive r ole models. Youth are identified as “at-risk” due to the following ci rcumstances: involvement with the juvenile justice system\, excessive in school and out of school suspensions\, poor academic performance\, and th e lack of positive role models. Our vision is to inspire and enable\, thr ough character development\, all young people especially those from disad vantaged circumstances to realize their full potential as productive\, re sponsible and caring citizens.
