PPD Beach2Battleship moves to downtown Wilmington
On October 20, 2012 downtown Wilmington will welcome 2100 athletes across the PPD Beach2Battleship finish line located on Water St.
In an effort to include you in this fun filled day and to help encourage athletes and their families to visit your business, we invite you to participate in our “Welcome to Wilmington” program.

How it works:
Any business located in the downtown area is welcomed to participate. All you have to do is say YES and we will take it from there.
We will provide all of our athletes with a list of participating businesses and a stamp card for their use. As an added incentive to our participants, businesses may (but don’t have to) offer an athlete discount.

We will provide all interested businesses with a poster to hang in their store window welcoming PPD Beach2Battleship athletes in. Each participating business will also receive a PPD Beach2Battleship stamp to keep at their register.
Any time an athlete makes a purchase at a participating shop, they will get their card stamped.

At the end of the week, and once the race is over, the cardholder with the most stamps wins a prize donated by Set Up Events and the Wilmington Family YMCA. First place will receive a $500 VISA gift card, second place will receive a $250 VISA gift card and third place will win a $100 VISA gift card.

This will not only be a fun activity for athletes and their families, and a way for them to win a great prize, but also a way to bring additional business to the downtown area during the days leading up to and on race day!

And, in addition to the athlete prizes, businesses will also be rewarded. The business in the food and beverage category and the business in the retail category that stamps the most cards will be given a free sponsorship to PPD Beach2Battleship 2013. This is a $500 value and includes:
- Marketing space at the finish line
- Banner display rights at the finish line
- Name/logo included on the PPD Beach2Battleship website
- Company message included in event PA announcements
