Every day, millions of people are trafficked and forced into slavery.  It doesn't just happen in other countries, it doesn't just happen in other cultures, and it doesn't just happen to other people.  Modern day slavery is a real, growing, and local industry.  People are being bought, sold, and forced to do unspeakable things for an unspeakable price.  People are being abused, broken, and traded in our own backyards.  Slavery happens in our country, in our neighborhoods, and we can't turn a blind eye to it.  We have to educate ourselves, we have to be a voice, and we have to do something.

One person can make a difference.  One step, one action at a time is what it takes to fight the battle against human trafficking.  If you have been wondering where to start, start here!  Life Community Church will be hosting a Women's Event to raise funds to support the Centre of Redemption, which provides a better opportunity of life to female survivors of sex trafficking, by offering safe long-term housing, education, counseling and life skills aiding in their integration to independence.

This event, Pinterest With A Purpose, will be held on Friday, November 16, from 7:00 - 9:00pm at Life Community Church (the church in the mall!).  We will provide supplies and instruction for several different craft projects that we have found on Pinterest (for example, jewelry making) which will then be sold online.  All proceeds from the sales will go directly to support the COR.

The cost for this event is $5.00, and tickets can be purchased at the door.  We are asking that everyone bring either an appetizer or dessert (from a recipe you found on Pinterest, of course!).  LifeCC will provide beverages.
