The Volunteer Center of Durham's18th annual GREAT HUMAN RACE is a 5k run and community walk that supports area nonprofits. This unique fundraising event:
supports hundreds nonprofits, schools and faith-based groups provides an opportunity for any nonprofit agency to raise money for their own organization enables businesses and individuals to support the nonprofit of their choice has raised almost $2 million since its inception in 1996
This year we are excited to once again partner with Northgate Mall as our venue host. This is a great location allowing plenty of space for all of our race day activities and entertainment. Northgate Mall is centrally located and easily accessible from all directions with convenient and free parking.
The 5k course runs through the historic Watts Hospital-Hillandale neighborhood. A National Historic District, this gently rolling course will allow runners and walkers to enjoy a scenic neighborhood that is a treasure trove of early twentieth-century American residential architecture.
There are plenty of ways to get involved... run, walk, volunteer, donate or raise money for your favorite nonprofit!
