  to acclaim in important musical centers in America\, Europe\, and Asia. R
 ecent tours have included concerts in China\, England\, Russia\, and Bosni
 a. In an eclectic repertoire encompassing the solo and chamber music liter
 atures\, Giles is equally at home in the standard repertoire as in the mus
 ic of our time. A native of High Point\, Dr. Giles studied with Byron Jani
 s at the Manhattan School of Music\, Jerome Lowenthal at The Juilliard Sch
 ool\, Nelita True at the Eastman School of Music\, and Robert Shannon at O
 berlin College. Dr. Giles is coordinator of the piano program at Northwest
 ern University. He is chair of the piano department at the Eastern Music F
 estival during the summers.</span></p>\n<p class='MsoNormal'><span style='
