Music for a Great Space presents: Sidney Outlaw, baritone and Warren Jones, piano Henry Ingram Memorial Concert Friday, April 13, 2012, 7:30 PM Dana Auditorium, Guilford College 5800 West Friendly Avenue, Greensboro, NC 27410 Lauded by The San Francisco Chronicle as "An Opera Powerhouse," and The New York Times as a "terrific singer," Sidney Outlaw was the 2010 Grand Prize winner of the Concurso Internacional de Canto Montserratt Caballe. Outlaw recently made his debut with The English National Opera as Rambo (The Death of Klinghoffer), and has performed the roles of Malcolm (Malcolm X), Xerxes (Ariodante), Demetrius (A Midsummer Night's Dream), and Papageno (Die Zauberflöte), as well as an international debut as Guglielmo (Così fan tutte) in both Germany and Israel. Mr. Outlaw's orchestral and recital performances include: The Messiah at Carnegie Hall, Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 in D minor at Avery Fisher Hall and "Wednesday At One" at Alice Tully Hall. Outlaw's other awards include: national semi-finalist Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions; finalist for both Concour International Musical de Montreal and George London Foundation; and grand prize Florida Grand Opera/YPO Vocal Competi tion. Upcoming engagements include Telemann's Orpheus with The New York City Opera and the title role of Don Giovanni with AIX en Provence music festival in France.
