 diseases  such as macular degeneration\, retinitis pigmentosa and Usher sy
 ndrome.  Foundation Fighting Blindness is working to find treatments and c
 ures  for these devastating diseases. Foundation Fighting Blindness funds 
  leading-edge research in areas such as genetics\, gene therapy\,  transpl
 antation\, artificial retinal implants\, and pharmaceutical and  nutrition
 al therapies.<br /><br />Since 2006\, VisionWalk has raised <strong><span>
 over $17 million</span></strong> to support the mission of the Foundation 
 Fighting Blindness. Over 50 walks are planned for 2011\, including the <a
