Lunchtime, Friday, October 21 Cooking begins at 9:00 a.m. Eating begins at 12:00 p.m. City departments are challenged to an Employee Spaghetti Cook-Off, on Friday, October 21, at Myrtle’s Market! Departments are invited to send one three-person team to prepare at least 20 quarts of spaghetti sauce for judging and tasting, as a fun fund-raising event for the American Heart Association. Teams will provide all cooking equipment, grills, utensils, pots, pans, dry goods, pasta, spices, oil, etc. Each team must use one item from a Myrtle’s Market Vendor and each team will also receive five pounds of hamburger, forks and bowls for tasting, two tables for food preparation, two chairs, hand-wash station and one 10X10 tent. Teams have three hours, beginning at 9:00 a.m., to prepare their sauce. Tasting and judging are open to the public for a $3.00 donation to the Heart Fund, so come enjoy a spaghetti lunch at Myrtle’s Market on Friday, October 21.
