November 4, 5 & 6, 2011 Come enjoy an old-fashioned, fun-filled weekend as 25 hot air balloons take to the air at Balloons Over Anderson! Take a hot air balloon flight, a tethered balloon ride or stroll through the festival and enjoy the other activities. Have a relaxing breakfast, lunch or dinner with our food vendors while watching the beautiful hot air balloons. You will love the show with other flying aircrafts by the FireTower Flyers remote control airplane club, the Flying Tigers Parachute Team, and XXXtreme Hobbies R/C Cars and Trucks. You'll also love seeing the Dukes of Hazzard Cars and the A-Team Van on display at the festival. Entertain the kids with the Bouncin'Roo inflatables, the Wounded Wolf Bungy Trampoline and Water Walkers of Lexington. Kids can also ride Thomas the Train. Five balloon flights are scheduled and one dedicated balloon will be providing tethered balloon rides all weekend. One evening glow is planned for Saturday where all balloons will inflate and illuminate the night sky. For your listening pleasure enjoy the sounds of Chris Gunnels, Saxtress Leisha J, True Witness, etc... Emcee duties are provided by MC/DJ Lisa Drudge. Other activities are in the planning stages and will update the web site as we progress. See Mr. Twister the Clown along with other games and activities. Music lovers can enjoy the sounds of local area artists. Each of the branches of our military along with the National Guard will also be there as part of a recruiting strategy. Please come out and support our armed forces. Balloons Over Anderson is also in the process of developing a scholarship program in conjunction with the local Civil Air Patrol. The intent of the program is to provide educational funding in the field of aviation for a youth member of the Civil Air Patrol. Details are being worked out at the current time and once completed will be posted on the web site. The Quality Inn located at 3025 N. Main Street in Anderson is our host hotel this year.
