It’s the State Museum’s annual autumn tradition— the Fall Heritage Festival & Pickin’ Party! With mouth-watering barbecue on the menu, some of the best of South Carolina’s musical and traditional folk art talent and the national treasure that is topiary artist Pearl Fryar, guests will enjoy a day filled with fall activities for the whole family—plus a new evening event, Moonshine and Muscadines, highlighting more of South Carolina’s bountiful heritage.

•Renowned topiary artist Pearl Fryar of Bishopville returns to host a reprise screening of the acclaimed documentary “A Man Named Pearl” and speak about his inspiring life story
•Barbecued chicken is new on the menu this year as guests taste different styles of South Carolina barbecue from award-winning barbecue masters at the annual Pig Pickin’ (plates and sandwiches available for purchase)($)
•Bill Wells and the Blue Ridge Mountain Grass return by popular demand to headline the day. Joining them on the musical bill is Angela Easterling, a young singer-songwriter from Greer, SC who has been taking the world of roots music by storm.
•Meet South Carolina traditional folk artists and crafters on the Museum grounds and shop for pottery, paintings, jewelry, handmade soaps and more
•See live demonstrations of soapmaking, blacksmithing and much more
•Enjoy pumpkin and face painting for children ($)
