In “The Funk & Wag from A to Z” \, originally curated by Ann Harithas for the Nave Museum in Victoria\, TX \, artist Mel Chin extracted images from all 25 volumes of the 1953 Funk & Wagnall’s Encyclopedia and re-edited them a collages\, unleashing the p otentiality of images trapped by historical context.  Chin� �s inspiring piece is showcased alongside new configurations of more recen t works by the artist in this exhibition.

PPD Beach2Battleship moves to downtown Wilmington
On Oc tober 20\, 2012 downtown Wilmington will welcome 2100 athletes across the PPD Beach2Battleship finish line located on Water St.
In an effort to include you in this fun filled day and to help encourage athletes and the ir families to visit your business\, we invite you to participate in our � ��Welcome to Wilmington” program.

How it works:
Any busines s located in the downtown area is welcomed to participate. All you have to do is say YES and we will take it from there.
We will provide all of our athletes with a list of participating businesses and a stamp card for their use. As an added incentive to our participants\, businesses may (bu t don’t have to) offer an athlete discount.

We will provide all interested businesses with a poster to hang in their store window welcomin g PPD Beach2Battleship athletes in. Each participating business will also receive a PPD Beach2Battleship stamp to keep at their register.
Any t ime an athlete makes a purchase at a participating shop\, they will get th eir card stamped.

At the end of the week\, and once the race is ov er\, the cardholder with the most stamps wins a prize donated by Set Up Ev ents and the Wilmington Family YMCA. First place will receive a $500 VISA gift card\, second place will receive a $250 VISA gift card and third plac e will win a $100 VISA gift card.

This will not only be a fun acti vity for athletes and their families\, and a way for them to win a great p rize\, but also a way to bring additional business to the downtown area du ring the days leading up to and on race day!

As a manager\, he has mentored man y team members and helped them to become active promoters of technical com munication through their service to STC\, their companies\, and the commun ity. Paul presents at conferences on technology and management topics\, an d he also speaks to STC chapters\, youth groups\, and university students about technical communication. Paul received a B.S. in Computer Science an d a B.S. in Mathematics from Pennsylvania State University and has been in volved in technical communication for more than 20 years. Paul has served STC Houston in many admin council and committee roles.
