Position – Chief of Police

Clinton, pop 8639. Seeking an exp.  energetic, innovative leader as Chief of Police. Visionary with strong track record in comm. involvement, and staff devel. High level of prof. ethics and integrity. Resp. for protection of life and property. Preventing, detecting, and enforcing  varied law enforcement programs and emergency responses. Func. as member of mgmt., report to City Manager in Council-Manager form of govt. Resp. for dept. mgmt. encompassing all aspects of est. fed./state/local laws, policies and standards, staffing, budgeting &  purchasing. Job req’s: Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, public admin. or related field supplemented by advanced courses in police science and administration with progressive police experience and considerable supervisory and management experience or an  equivalent comb. of edu. and exp. Pref’d req; Master’s degree in criminal justice, public admin. or related field. Phy. req. per job specifications. Possess valid NCDL, City residency required. Pre-emp. physical, criminal background checks and credit report req’d. Comp. benefits pkg.
