Course Description
The Pediatric Conference: Stepping Into the Future offers a variety of information for health care providers who care for pediatric patients, from neonates to adolescents. Dynamic speakers will present current topics applicable to health care providers working in a variety of settings, whether NICU, Pediatrics, PICU or the ED.

Day 1 topics include information about infants and children.
Topics include "Hot Topics", surgical cases, pediatric stabilization, caring
for the pediatric sexual assault patient in ED, current treatments for the pediatric asthma patient.

Day 2 topics focus on the neonatal population.
Topics include surgical cases, "The Golden Hour", Down Syndrome, caring for the late pre-term infant.
 
Course Objectives
Day 1 – Thursday, April 10th
Discuss "Hot Topics" in pediatrics.
Discuss pediatric surgical cases.
Recall methods of stabilizing pediatric patients.
Discuss the evaluation of child sexual assault in the ED.
Discuss current guidelines for the treatment of asthma in pediatric patients.

Day 2 – Friday, April 11th
Discuss neonatal surgical cases.
Describe "The Golden Hour."
Discuss Down Syndrome in the neonate.
Describe caring for the late pre-term infant.

Target Audience
This two-day conference is designed for nurses, nurse practioners, pre-hospital providers, and therapists who care for pediatric patients.
