New Jobs Are Leaving

Diversity Initiative Aims to Increase Minority Contract Participation

PITTSBURGH, PA (NNPA) — Pennsylvania is fundamentally changing the way it does business and administration officials say the change will result in more state contracts for minority- and women-owned firms and millions in cost savings. This initiative will allow General Services, which is responsible for nearly all state contracting and purchasing, to increase business opportunities for minority- and women-owned firms while eliminating redundant and excessive costs. Federal Lawsuit Charges Florida with Mis-education of Minority Children By Monica Steward, Capital Outlook
TALLAHASSEE, FL — “On this particular day, we have filed against the State of Florida for the mis-education and the lack of education of minority children,” said Adora Obi Nweze, Florida NAACP president, during a recent press conference to announce the organization’s dissatisfaction with the current state of education in Florida. The organization has mailed the complaint to the federal offices.
